Our Story

Jewish Community Centers have a rich history stemming back to 1854 when the first Hebrew Young Men’s Literary Association was established in Baltimore to support Jewish immigrants.

Valley Jewish Community Center is the proud culmination of 3 JCC campuses that once served the San Fernando Valley by the names of Valley Cities JCC, North Valley JCC, and West Valley JCC. After their closures over 10 years ago, passionate community members and JCC professionals re-established a Jewish Community Center to serve the San Fernando Valley.

Adult, Youth and Healthy Lifestyle programs are held at Valley JCC in Woodland Hills. Utilizing community venues, and the JCC Maccabi Youth Sports program. In 2016, Today’s Montessori was incorporated into Valley JCC and it serves as the early childhood education center for our community.

Los Angeles has the second largest Jewish population in the United States, fifth largest of any city in the world, and increasingly high rates of Jewish movement to the San Fernando Valley. San Fernando Valley is also a global hub of the Israeli and Israeli-American population.

The San Fernando Valley is home to over 6,000 Jewish college students attending California State University, Northridge as well as Valley and Pierce Los Angeles City Community Colleges.

Valley Jewish Community Center is an inclusive partner that serves the Jewish community, and the community at large, within the San Fernando, Conejo, Simi and Santa Clarita Valleys of the Los Angeles region.

Our Mission

To provide a home for social, educational and recreational programs for families and individuals that express Jewish values.
