After receiving so many requests from community members who took previous Compare & Contrast classes, James Sokol returns with a new set of examples featuring fabulous (or maybe not-so-fabulous) singers, and gorgeous music; a great series for opera newcomers & the long-time fans. This deep dive may help illuminate who was better, this famous singer or that famous singer? Maybe a forgotten singer or an unknown singer? Or, maybe a comparison of production styles, or musical interpretation? Whatever the examples, to compare and contrast the same musical moment in different productions can be very interesting, sometimes illuminating, usually beautiful. Come for the songs; stay for the fun!
